Smart To-Do turns typed text, speech and photos into tasks and reminders. This policy explains what the app does with your information. In short: we do not collect, sell or share your data. Your tasks stay on your phone.

Data we collect

None. Smart To-Do has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting. We, the developer, never receive your tasks, recordings, photos or messages.

Data stored on your phone

• Tasks, lists, notes and reminders are saved in a database inside the app on your phone.
• Settings such as theme, reminder sound and daily summary time are saved on your phone.
• Android cloud backup is turned off for this app. Uninstalling the app deletes all of this data.

Microphone

When you tap the microphone, the app records what you say and turns it into text on your phone, using your phone's on-device speech recognition or the Whisper speech model that runs inside the app. The recording is used only to create your reminder and is not sent to us or to anyone else.

Camera and photos

When you take or choose a photo, the app reads the text on it on your phone, using Google ML Kit text recognition and the on-device AI model. The photo is not uploaded. ML Kit may send anonymous usage and performance information to Google, as described in Google's ML Kit terms.

Reminders from messages (optional)

If you turn this feature on and grant notification access, the app reads the text of new message notifications from supported chat apps, on your phone, and creates reminders for the dates and times it finds. It keeps only those reminders, plus the names of the chats it has seen and when, so you can choose which chats to watch. The rest of the message text is not stored, and nothing is sent off your phone. You can turn this off at any time in the app or in Android settings.

AI model and speech model downloads

The on-device AI model (Gemma) and the optional Whisper speech model are downloaded from Hugging Face the first time you use them. During a download, Hugging Face receives the technical information any web server receives, such as your IP address, as described in the Hugging Face privacy policy. No task, recording or photo is sent with the download.

Notifications and alarms

The app uses Android notifications, exact alarms and, if you choose alarm-style reminders, a full-screen alert so your reminders arrive on time. These work on your phone only.

Children

Smart To-Do is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Your rights

Because we do not collect personal data, there is nothing we hold about you to access, correct or delete. You control all app data on your phone and can delete it at any time by deleting tasks or uninstalling the app. If you are in the EU, you also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.

Changes

If a future version adds features that send data off your phone, such as backup or advertising, we will update this policy and the app's Google Play data safety information before that version is released.
